Donate Money or Equipment TO RURAL FIRE MANAGEMENT

We can’t provide equipment if we don’t have it. By donating money or equipment to us, RFM can get equipment into the hands that need it most.

Volunteer with RURAL FIRE MANAGEMENT

Unable to donate but want to help support us? Consider giving up some of your valuable time to help support RFM in delivering its mission and objectives. There are administrative and local fire group roles to suit anyone.

Whether it’s donating or volunteering, your actions will directly contribute to the protection of lives, property and the environment.

How is Rural Fire Management helping?

RFM is doing the following:

CREATING LOCAL NETWORKS OF PRELIMINARY RESPONDERS

By creating a register of property owners, farmers and residents that are willing to assist their neighbours during the event of wildfire, we can connect individuals to form a larger targeted response to bushfires and help minimise the threat of bushfires.

REDUCING THE SEVERITY OF BUSHFIRES THROUGH EARLY RESPONSE MEASURES

We can reduce the threat of wildfires by responding to small fires before they become uncontrollable.

PROVIDING AFFORDABLE EQUIPMENT TO VULNERABLE AREAS

It’s no secret that regional areas generally lack modern firefighting equipment. Affordability is the primary reason for a lack of preparedness. RFM is liaising with international and domestic manufacturers to ensure we can provide affordable equipment to bushfire prone areas.

ESTABLISHING REGISTERED VOLUNTEER PRIVATE FIRE BRIGADES IN AREAS WITH NO FIRE SERVICE COVERAGE

RFM aims to register private fire brigades under the RFM umbrella in the future. Areas with no fire service coverage are currently being mapped out and we are gathering information surrounding the requirements of creating/managing these brigades.
